Dressed Up in Bucharest

When planning your best friend’s stag do, there is a lot to organise and take into consideration. Putting things together, bringing everyone to the same point, choose the most suitable activities for your group, choices, choices, choices everywhere but…from what I know, the most entertaining choice of all is choosing the groom’s outfits.

To be honest, the first time I saw in one of my groups the groom dressed up, I couldn’t figure out if I should laugh or should I worry. Of course, I laughed first, haha.

Some of the most popular costumes are the ones with fake sexual parts then there are the lady- boys and after, the masks. The most common mask is the one with the bride’s or groom’s face on it and then, there are the ones with a celebrity’s face on it.

Over the time, I saw some creative ideas like: the groom wearing a white wedding dress ( this is actually a good one, as the groom can experience the struggle his wife will have during their wedding), all the group dressed like Santa Claus or everybody wearing Hawaiian shirts or…skirts and something I liked a lot, an actual inflatable penis costume. I died laughing at this one. Also, a very nice and creative idea had a group of girls on a hen do. The bride was getting married to a pilot so she was dressed like a pilot and her ladies were dressed like cabin stewardesses.

Follow me for more dressing up advice, haha.

Anyway, there are a lot of choices and you can be as creative as you want but the main theme of this article is the actual act of wearing these outfits in Romania’s Capital City, Bucharest.

I always say and keep saying that nightlife in Bucharest is pretty amazing. Super Clubs. Cool restaurants, fancy bars, beer bars, rock bars, student pubs, terraces, etc. They start getting busy around 11 PM and keep on going until 5-6 AM. Romanians like to party, drink and dance and I always tell my groups that as long as you are just nice and respectful towards others, there won’t be any kind of issues.

We like to say that we are open minded but the truth is, we are still a little bit conservative regarding new things and ways and especially when it comes to dressing up the stag tradition.

If you are planning a bachelor party in Bucharest and have prepared some cool outfits, you should take into consideration that you won’t be able to wear them everywhere. The big clubs and most of the good restaurants will not allow you to get in as they have some strict dress code policies and this is because romanians are quite fashionable and they like to dress up well and show off when they go out.

Don’t worry though, in the Old City, where most of the popular and tourist bars are, you can wear your outfits but still, not in all places. This is why, before going out, get some guidance from your local contact. If you don’t have one, just give us a call, we are happy to provide info at no cost.

This being said, I encourage you to be creative, show your ideas and build some precious memories for your friends. Make a plan with your guides, let them know what kind of places you like and most importantly, listen carefully to their advice. A good organisation and communication makes a perfect trip.

Dress up, show off and let the fun begin!
